Interviews with 7 participants revealed:
67% of home cooks do not use measuring tools.
100% of them failed cooking at some point.
Here are some pain points identified by the research participants
1. Measuring cups often come in multiple pieces
2. Non cohesive appearances clutter the kitchen
3. Bigger glass cups are less versatile.
Research participants showed me their favourite designs in general.
I built a mood board based on the participants' preferences and the market trend.
Sketches + mockups were made and shared with the participants for feedback.
Tested 5 mockups made out of foam board and clay.
Users preferred the slider concept for cups and spoons.
It was easy to control the volume with a singular body.
A compact family of measuring tools were then requested for more cohesive, modern kitchen.
